0303 – FF Surprising 1911 Fail

It has been quite some time since we have had a FF so I thought I would resurrect that tradition for this week. At our last Combat Focus Shooting course David (who is a great shooter and a good sport) showed up with a 1911. I knew this was going to turn out the same way it always does so it was no shock that the gun stopped running. I was able to catch one of the malfunctions on camera and we chatted with David briefly about the situation.  Check out the video below.

0296 – Why I am investing in learning techniques for fighting in the Extreme Close Quarters Tactics Course

I feel that when we think about crime and violence in particular we tend to over complicate the acts themselves quite possibly due to our distaste for those acts. We have a tendency to try and distance ourselves from violence to make ourselves feel better. It is as if the less we understand violence the less likely we are to have it be part of our life. If only it were that easy. Violence and crime can effect everyone and as opposed to being complex, violence is often very simple. Today we are going to take a look at training for simple violence and the complexities involved in close quarters fighting.

0262 – An Interview with Rob Pincus of ICE Training et al

At the request of some listeners we are going to step out of chronological order and bring to you the last interview I conducted in Vegas at SHOT Show 2012.  I have at least 5 interviews still to come, and probably more than that as there were folks we wanted to catch up to but simply couldn’t make schedules work.  So don’t worry, there is plenty more content still to come from SHOT Show.

Today we are going to speak with one of the modern defining forces in defensive shooting instruction.  Rob Pincus of ICE Training has a pretty busy schedule and we appreciate him taking the time to sit down and chat.
