0304 – Selecting Small Handgun for Concealed Carry

I guess it was some time last week that I realized I have been making a mistake in how I handle listeners emails.  I work very hard to answer all of the emails that I receive and to do it quickly.  This method is great for that one listener who needs some information.  What I haven’t been thinking about is all the other folks out there that might have a similar question.  So it just clicked with me that I should be using the podcast to answer questions asked by listeners and at the same time, I should use those questions to build podcast content.  Duh.  Everyone that has a podcast does it.  I guess I’m just a bit slow on the uptake…

So I got a great email from Jason Silva last week.  You might remember the interview that we had with Jason in the early spring about an organization he is heavily involved in, Students for Concealed Carry.  Check out Students for concealed Carry on their website and on Facebook.  Jason asked my opinion regarding options when it came to carrying small guns.  So today we are going to take a look at Jason’s question.  How do we go about selecting a small automatic for concealed carry.

0273 – Workout CCW

Reality check. Unless you are some mega, ninja, stud, you are probably a lot like me. That means that WE are much more likely to die because we are old and fat and have a massive heart attack than we are to die in a gunfight. I’m sorry, I know it isn’t as fun to think about the truth. Just bear with me for the next few moments. Remember you are like me right. Well I need more exercise so I can postpone my death as much as possible. So I go to the gym, I work out at home, or where ever I am that I can squeeze in a few minutes of exercise. You know that I carry every where I go, this means I carry when I work out. Whew, we made it back to the tacticool topic. Today we are going to talk about carrying your self-defense handgun while you are working out

0271 – Support The Second Amendment at Starbucks

First of all don’t forget that tomorrow, Tuesday February 14th is Valentine’s Day. Forgetting that fact in some relationships could have dire consequences and remembering appropriately could have profound benefits. Good luck with that. I have to say, that I have been pretty excited about the 14th for quite some time. You see, I like coffee, a lot, and there really isn’t much better in life than having someone else brew you a good cup of coffee. The problem with that is it can be a bit pricey. Well, tomorrow I’m going to ignore the price tag and enjoy a cup of Joe or two from Starbucks. If you enjoy coffee, and guns, you might think about doing the same.

0261 – An Interview with Ray Kohout Designer of the Heizer Defense Double Tap

When I first saw the Double Tap I couldn’t help thinking, “one gets ten.” As I looked at the double tap more and more, it quickly distanced itself from the FP-45 Liberator. There are certainly similarities, size, caliber, and extra rounds stored in the grip, but the workmanship puts the Double Tap in a whole new league. Despite the fact that the Ray Kohout comes from a gun background, the design of the Double Tap would lead you to believe otherwise. Roller bearings and CNC from head to toe are more indicative of the aerospace industry than a firearms design. No fetzer valve, but with Heizer Defense it’s all ball bearings these days.
