I am excited to announce that on June 30, 2013 Daniel Shaw will teach his first handgun course as a civilian in Garrettsville, Ohio as part of a two day Course with Safety Solutions Academy.

About Daniel Shaw:

Daniel recently retired from active service with the US Marine Corps where he served as an Infantry Unit Leader and held several weapons and tactics instructor positions. Some may recognize him from the podcast Gunfighter Cast which he created in 2008 and through it; he continues to produce informative defense based content in various forms of media. Vitals of Defense Episode I: Available for download now!

In early May I spent a weekend in NC with Daniel Shaw of Gunfighter Cast in North Carolina. Daniel had invited me down to do some work on a video project and I must say I was both flattered and excited about being included and the prospects of the project. The excitement increased throughout our filming as we realized that the project was going to become much more than we ever expected.

We spent a full day out on the range filming firearms footage with multiple camera setups including a steady cam which yielded some great footage. We then worked into the early morning hours inside to get the main content of the video hammered out. It was a major undertaking and I am thrilled with the results.

SSA talks about training scars, competition and defensive shooting with WTBGU! Podcast

Ron Larimer over at When the Balloon Goes Up! took some time to chat with me about defensive shooting, competition and training scars back in late March. Are you Ready?

This will be a short post.

First of all, I am hoping for the best for all the people involved in the mayhem in Boston.

My questions for you are simple:

Are you ready? Have you gotten the life saving training that you have been meaning to get? Are you carrying your kit? Are you ready to improvise when your supplies run out?

Think about the answers to those questions and then do something.
