Thanks for listening to the Safety Solutions Academy Podcast.
Take a look at this interview with multiple gunfight survivor, Lance Thomas.
If you listen to Lance Thomas, you can hear the process that he goes through as he decides that he is going to be a survivor.
He has clearly developed the mindset of a survivor and the skills to go with it.
Lance recognized some important self-defense principles.
- Innocent life has value
- Self-defense is each individuals responsibility
- Any defense you have must be immediate
- When you choose to fight, you must be aggressive
- An aggressive, skilled response is better than an aggressive response
In looking at the above points and then acting upon them, Mr. Thomas makes the choice to be a survivor.
This choice may not be for everyone. Â If you choose self-defense you also choose many consequences that come from that. Â The consequences of engaging in self defense can continue for years after the event itself is over.
- Physical
- Emotional
- Social
- Criminal
- Civil
Self-defense and the use of a handgun in a lethal force encounter is not a trivial thing. Â The aftermath will be arduous and difficult, but it beats death.
